Vermicomposting can be comprised in different methods.

1. At home from residuals of your vegetables and fruits.

2. At your farm to meet the requirements of your crops.

At farm there is mostly used two methods.

1. Bed Method: This is an easy method in which beds of organic matter or manure are prepared. It is most suitable and easy method.

2. Pit method: In this method we make cemented pits. This method is not prominent as it involves problems of poor aeration ad waterlogging.

In bed method we use HDPE vermicompost beds which is mostly in size of 12x4x2 Ft.

In windrow method we make beds on the top of our land where no weeds and water storage problem.

1. Vermicomposting is the process of turning organic debris into worm castings.

2. The worm castings are very important to the fertility of the soil.

3. The castings contain high amonuts of nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus, calcium, and magnesium.

4. castings contain: 5 times the available nitrogen, 7 times the available potash, and 1 1/2 times more calcium than found in good topsoil.

5. Several researchers have demonstrated the earthworm castings have excellent aeration, porosity, structure, drainage, and moisture-holding capacity.

6. The content of the earthworm castings, along with the natural tillage by the worms burrowing action, enhances the permeability of water in the soil,Worm castings can hold close to nine times their weight in water.

These are five essential things that worms need.

1. A Hospitable living environment usually called bedding.

2. A food sources.

3. Adequate moisture (greater than 50% water content by weight).

4. Adequate aeration.

5. Protection from temperature extreme.
